Gibraltar – 20th February 2017 – Super luxury yacht “Sailing Yacht A” drifts at its anchorage point off the Detached Mole, part of the port of Gibraltar, located within the British overseas territory of Gibraltar after it was arrested by the Gibraltar Admiralty Marshall. The vessel awaits the conclusion of a court hearing in which the court is hearing the arguments from both the claimants and defence lawyers as to the future of the vessel.
Sailing Yacht A has been seen drifting at anchor going round in circles over an area of some 500m in diameter since its arrest late last week. At present it has seen gusts of up to 54 knots at times.
To the forefront of the image is Europort, Gibraltar’s main financial services hub as well as the detached mole used as a berth for tankers involved in bunkering activities.
In the background is the Spanish port of Algeciras which overlooks the Rock of Gibraltar.
